Property tax revenue for schools and local services

Oklahoma State Question 843 is scheduled for the November 3, 2026 ballot and proposes eliminating property tax revenue that currently supports local schools and public services. Lawmakers have also discussed putting property tax cuts to a vote of the people as a 2026 session priority, raising questions about how schools and local governments would be funded if that revenue stream is reduced or removed.

Should Oklahoma eliminate or cut property tax revenue that funds local schools and public services?
