2026 U.S. Senate race for McConnell's seat

Sen. Mitch McConnell announced his retirement after more than four decades representing Kentucky, leaving an open U.S. Senate seat on the November 3, 2026 ballot that Warren County voters will help fill. Republican Rep. Andy Barr won President Trump's endorsement and defeated former Attorney General Daniel Cameron in the May 19 primary; Democrats nominated former state Rep. Charles Booker, who ran against Rand Paul in 2022. Barr holds a fundraising advantage, and Cook rates the race Solid Republican. Barr has promoted his conservative record and support for Trump in the general election campaign.

Positions on this issue  Β·  liberal → conservative
  1. Elect Democrat Charles Booker to bring a progressive voice and check Republican control in Washington.
  2. Lean toward Booker as the better choice, even where his positions sit further left than mine.
  3. Stay undecided and weigh both candidates' records before the November election.
  4. Lean toward Andy Barr for his congressional experience despite his close ties to Trump.
  5. Elect Republican Andy Barr, Trump's endorsed candidate, to keep the seat in conservative hands.
