Issue Position
It's only been a year since the corrupt Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and callously handed states the power to restrict or ban abortion without any regard for the consequences — and the extreme, anti-choice GOP wasted no time. Republican-led states ruthlessly ripped away abortion access from millions.

In just the first 100 days after the Dobbs decision, more than 22 million people lost abortion rights. Right now, 15 states have enacted bans or severe restrictions on abortion.

Over the past year, state legislatures have worked to pass laws to punish patients for traveling out of state for abortion care.

There is an ongoing legal case to ban mifepristone — a safe, effective abortion medication — tied up in the courts.

Congressional Republicans have already made it clear they support a national abortion ban.

With all this, we now live in a country where my daughter has fewer rights than her grandmother did.

Here's the truth – support for abortion rights is soaring right now. Most Americans want to keep abortion safe and legal.

But Republicans don't care what the people want.

Ever since deep-red Kansas voted to keep abortion legal, lawmakers in states like Ohio are doing everything they can to keep abortion off the ballot, afraid of what the people will decide.

That's not democracy, it's an abomination!

While abortion remains safe and legal in Massachusetts and other states led by Democrats, we know that's not enough.

We must fight like hell to codify abortion rights for all 50 states, and to do that, we need an unapologetically pro-choice majority that truly represents the American people.

Don't let this be only a somber anniversary — instead, let's renew our determination and continue the battle for bodily autonomy for all! We won't stop until abortion is safe and legal for everyone.
Issue Position
The Republican party is on a dangerous mission to turn America into a fascist state.

They are leading the charge to undermine the values our country was founded on, spreading their antidemocratic ideology through Congress and state legislatures – ignoring the will of the people, and pushing their regressive policies on things like gun violence prevention, abortion access, and LGBTQ+ rights.

Will you help fuel the fight for democracy with a donation before our end-of-month deadline?

The recent incident in Tennessee is just the latest example of their racist, anti-democratic assault on freedom of speech. The fact that Republicans expelled democratically elected representatives for peacefully protesting for common-sense gun laws after the tragic Nashville school shooting is unacceptable.

While the representatives have been reinstated, we've seen the GOP's true colors.

We can't let these attacks go unchecked, as democracy isn't guaranteed. The words of our founding documents mean nothing if we don't work together to make them a reality.
Issue Position
We've had more mass shootings in 2023 than there have been days in the year so far. It's a horrifying statistic, but what's even more horrifying is the fact that the Republican party and their NRA buddies continue to turn a blind eye to the gun violence epidemic that's plaguing our country.

Instead of actually doing something to prevent these horrific tragedies from happening, they'd rather offer up empty "thoughts and prayers." Well, I'm sorry, but thoughts and prayers aren't going to bring back the innocent lives that have been lost.

We can't afford to wait for them to get their act together. As long as Republicans are in the pocket of the NRA, nothing will change.

That's why we need to reinstate the assault weapons ban that was in place from 1994-2004. It's a no-brainer - when military-style weapons are readily available, it's easier than ever for individuals to carry out mass shootings.
Issue Position
This is a time to fiercely celebrate and empower our vibrant LGBTQI+ community.

But, 2023 has seen a surge in anti-LGBTQI+ bills. We're talking about nearly 500 of these discriminatory bills popping up in state legislatures. And what's even more terrible is that many of these bills are specifically targeting transgender youth.

It's divisive and just plain cruel.

This fight has even reached Congress. Republicans claim to be the party of small government, but House Republicans passed anti-trans legislation that puts them in charge of soccer teams. Not parents. Not school districts. Congress.

Give me a break!

I go all over my district, talking to people about their concerns, and you know what didn't come up once? Trans kids.

This so-called "crisis" is being manufactured by the GOP. It's divisive, extremist, and honestly creepy.

We must protect trans kids – their well-being is on the line. This isn't just about some culture war. For many LGBTQI+ youth, it's a matter of life or death. Numerous studies have shown that when these young individuals have support from their families, schools, and communities, their chances of attempting suicide decrease significantly.

As a proud member of the House Equity Caucus, I'm committed to ensuring that everyone, especially our trans youth, can be themselves without threats of violence or discrimination.

It's a basic human right.

Let's remember this: Joy is revolutionary.

The far-right might want us to be discouraged, but no way in hell will we let that happen!

So I'll keep celebrating this month and every month alongside LGBTQI+ folks and fighting hard in Congress to protect their rights.
Issue Position
College should not be a debt sentence
I am outraged by the Supreme Court's decision to deny student loan relief.

Once again, this corrupted Supreme Court has shamelessly abandoned working families, choosing to cater to the interests of the obscenely wealthy. It is an utter disgrace.

For decades, we've lauded education as a pathway to prosperity — as it should be. But year after year it becomes more challenging for students to continue their education or pay it off. In America, the exorbitant costs of education and predatory lenders have created a system that disproportionately burdens lower-income students, perpetuating a cycle of inequality.

This is a step backward for America and the millions of hardworking individuals burdened by student loan debt. But, President Biden's initiative was just one avenue to provide relief, we can still do more. I will support legislation that will:

Provide immediate relief for existing debt through loan forgiveness, refinancing options, and the reduction of interest rates;
Increase funding for public schools to ensure affordable tuition, and expanding financial aid programs; and
Regulate loan servicers and lenders to end exploitative practices and protect borrowers.
If you're with me in this fight, consider making a contribution to my re-election campaign. Together, we can achieve comprehensive reforms to address the root causes of the student loan crisis, including tuition fees, predatory lending practices, and a lack of accessible options for students. And together, we can restore integrity and honor to a broken Supreme Court.
