Issue Position
Since the extreme and tragic Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, abortion rights have been under attack across the nation. Rep. Magaziner believes that every woman deserves the right to an abortion regardless of what state they live in, and is fighting to codify the rights and protections of Roe v. Wade nationally and defend a woman’s right to choose.
Issue Position
Among many reasons, Rep. Magaziner was inspired to run for Congress following the January 6th Capitol attack. Thanks to the heroic efforts of law enforcement, the violent mob that stormed the Capitol failed to overthrow our democracy that day. However, our democratic institutions remain under threat.

As the Ranking Member on the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence, Rep. Magaziner is working to root out domestic violent extremism and other pressing threats to our democracy and national security.

Rep. Magaziner also understands that real reform is needed to restore Americans’ faith in their government, which is why he supports overturning the Citizens United decision that allows unlimited spending in elections, supports banning members of congress from trading stocks, and has introduced legislation to enact term limits for members of congress.
Issue Position
In Congress, Representative Magaziner’s top priority is fighting for working Rhode Islanders. Rep. Magaziner is determined to restore the promise of the American Dream, so that everyone who is willing to work hard and do the right thing can build a great life for themselves and their children.

As your Member of Congress, Rep. Magaziner is fighting to:

Bring back good-paying manufacturing jobs from overseas
Protect worker’s right to unionize and collectively bargain
Invest in education, including Career and Technical Education programs and apprenticeships for those who don’t go to college
Support Rhode Island small businesses
Issue Position
As a strong supporter of teachers, students, and public schools, Rep. Magaziner believes that every child deserves access to a high-quality education.

In Congress, Rep. Magaziner is fighting to:

Expand access to quality, affordable child care
Ensure every child has access to universal pre-k
Provide free meals to students without barriers
Invest in high quality Career and Technical Education and apprenticeships for those who don’t go to college
Provide schools with the resources to address the mental health needs of students and faculty members
Make college more affordable for all
Issue Position
Rep. Magaziner believes that every American deserves clean air and clean water. That’s why Rep. Magaziner is committed to accelerating the transition to a clean energy future, while also lowering energy costs, tackling climate change, and creating thousands of good-paying union jobs.

Rep. Magaziner serves on the House Natural Resources Committee, where he is working to bolster Rhode Island’s Blue Economy, protect RI’s 400+ miles of pristine coastline, support the development of responsibly sited clean energy, and ensure that Rhode Island’s world-class fisheries remain healthy and productive for generations to come.
Issue Position
Representative Magaziner is committed to ending the epidemic of gun violence that is devastating communities all across the country.

In Congress, Rep. Magaziner is fighting for common sense gun safety legislation to:

Reinstate the ban on assault weapons used in many mass shootings
Establish universal background checks for every firearm sale
Require safe storage of firearms to prevent children or others who cannot lawfully obtain a firearm from causing harm to themselves or others
Ban the purchase and sale of high-capacity magazines and silencers
Strengthen red flag laws to keep guns out of the hands of those who are a danger to themselves or others
Issue Position
Representative Magaziner is committed to ensuring high-quality, affordable health care, including mental health care, for every American.

In Congress, Rep. Magaziner is fighting to lower healthcare costs, and especially to lower the cost of prescription drugs like insulin for all Americans.

Rep. Magaziner’s first bill as a Member of Congress was the Healthcare Worker Retention Act, a bill to address health care staffing shortages by providing  $2,000 of retention bonuses over two years to any eligible health care worker.

The Healthcare Worker Retention Act will incentivize hiring and retention in healthcare fields, improve healthcare professionals’ ability to provide high quality care to RI patients, and expand Rhode Islander’s access to safe, affordable, and reliable healthcare.

Issue Position
Rep. Magaziner believes that the promise of Social Security and Medicare is a sacred obligation upon which thousands of Rhode Islanders rely every single day.

To ensure that all seniors can retire with dignity, Rep. Magaziner is fighting to strengthen and expand Social Security and Medicare, and will always oppose any attempts to cut these vital programs.
Issue Position
As Americans, we owe our freedoms to the great sacrifices made by veterans and their families. So when service members return home, our country is obligated to deliver the services and care that veterans rightfully deserve.

In Congress, Rep. Magaziner is fighting to expand veterans’ access to high-quality health care, including mental health care, affordable education and job training, and employment opportunities as they transition from military service to civilian life.
