Issue Position
As a doctor, Congresswoman Caraveo believes the federal government should not be stepping into exam rooms to make medical choices on behalf of women.

Caraveo understands reproductive health is a very personal  subject that should remain between a woman and her doctor without the intervention of extremist judges, courts or politicians.

Caraveo is an original co-sponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act, a bill enshrining abortion protections into federal law. Additionally, she has stood up for the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authority to approve medication used for abortion care. In Congress, Dr. Caraveo will always fight to protect a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her healthcare.
Issue Position
Colorado’s 8th Congressional District includes the richest agriculture - producing county east of the Rocky Mountains. The rural communities who work and support this land face unique challenges that demand new solutions.

As a member of the Agriculture Committee, Congresswoman Caraveo is leading the charge to deliver vital resources for farmers, ranchers, producers, workers, and their families who make the food that feeds our nation. Caraveo has conducted outreach across the District to ensure the 2023 Farm Bill contains the important provisions our community needs. Additionally, she has worked across party lines to introduce bipartisan bills aimed at improving mental health access, breaking down barriers for farmers with disabilities, expanding childcare options in rural communities, and more.
Issue Position
Colorado is a national energy leader, ranking among the top 10 states in total energy output. Oil and gas production supports thousands of jobs in the 8th District alone, while solar and other renewable sources make up a growing percentage of Colorado’s energy mix.

Congresswoman Caraveo is committed to keeping Colorado at the forefront of American energy production and positioning companies in Colorado to lead in the clean energy economy. She is focused on finding bipartisan opportunities to cut through red tape and power Colorado’s economy, while mitigating environmental impacts and supporting clean air and water for working families.
Issue Position
Congresswoman Caraveo is a proud first-generation American whose parents immigrated to Colorado from Mexico. Caraveo’s parents worked tirelessly to help her live her own version of the American Dream. Now, as the first Latina doctor ever elected to Congress, Caraveo is dedicated to making that dream accessible to future generations.

The belief that the immigration system is broken is shared by both parties. Caraveo is taking several steps to reform the immigration system, including combating human trafficking, cracking down on the cartels that take advantage of migrants, and providing a path to citizenship, including for DACA recipients, that members from both parties can support.

For constituents who may be struggling with visa, immigration, or passport issues please contact the Congresswoman’s office at (303) 723-6560 for help from a constituent advocate who can interface with federal agencies on your behalf.
Issue Position
From housing to drug prices, the cost of living in Colorado has skyrocketed in recent years, and it’s hurting hardworking families. Congresswoman Caraveo is working on commonsense solutions that will lower costs and enable working-class families like the one she grew up in to achieve their version of the American Dream.
Issue Position
Congresswoman Caraveo is committed to protecting the needs of older members of our community. That means ensuring families get the benefits they have earned over years of hard work and making sure no one in our community gets left behind.

In Congress, Caraveo is fighting to protect Social Security and Medicare benefits that enable millions of seniors to retire with dignity, and programs like SNAP and Meals on Wheels that ensure older members of our community have the nutritious food they need and deserve.

For constituents who may be struggling with issues with their Social Security or Medicare benefits, please contact the Congresswoman’s office at (303) 723-6560 for help from a constituent advocate who can interface with federal agencies on your behalf.
Issue Position
Colorado has been a science and aerospace hub for decades, fostering innovations that connect communities, drive down costs, and power our nation’s economy.

As a member of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee, Congresswoman Caraveo is bringing federal investments home so Colorado businesses have the resources they need to maintain our state’s global leadership in this sector. As disruptive technologies like AI and cryptocurrency become more integrated across the economy, she is also committed to shaping commonsense regulations that harness the power of this innovation while keeping families safe.
Issue Position
Colorado’s 8th District is home to 35,000 veterans who put everything on the line to defend our freedoms and way of life with the understanding that our country will have their backs when they get home. Congresswoman Caraveo is using her position in Congress to keep that promise and provide our veterans the benefits and healthcare they need and deserve.

Congresswoman Caraveo voted to pass a cost-of-living adjustment to support our veterans and their families. Additionally, she introduced the Food Access and Stability Act, which stabilizes nutrition benefits so vulnerable veterans need not worry about where their next meal will come from. She will continue to prioritize delivering for our troops, retired servicemembers, and military families.

For constituents who may be struggling with issues with their veterans’ benefits, please contact the Congresswoman’s office at (303) 723-6560 for help from a constituent advocate who can interface with federal agencies on your behalf.
